Hungry for Hope

Where are you ??

Slough February 2016

The main encounters I had were with two youngish guys.  Both hungry for hope for the future

The first one was "Alex" who was promoting a charity.  After jokingly trying to get me to sign up to it, he said he used to work for a homeless charity and at one point had been homeless himself, sleeping in his car, I asked him straight out what he would like me to pray for him?  He was quite surprised at the question but after I explained I was a Christian who would love to pray for him, he quite openly told me that he would like me to pray for direction in his life as he was nearing 30, was drifting and didn’t know where his life was going.

I agreed to pray for that and also asked him if there was anything health-wise going on in his body, any pain or old injuries?  He said YES! - his back, neck and knee bothered him. The back was the worst (pain scale 5/10 with certain movements) so I started there.  After praying briefly and him testing it he said it was definitely better – probably a 3.  He was getting a bit edgy that his supervisor was watching and he was taking too long with me so I said I would pray again quickly and it went down on the second praying to a 1.  He was happy with that and said it had definitely given him reason to think again about faith as he had lost faith.

Though I would love to have prayed to get the pain to zero and then pray for the other pain in his body, I had to respect his work situation and go.  He was grateful for my care and shook my hand.  When I passed him  later and asked how his back was he said it was definitely better! I promised to pray for direction for him but encouraged him to pray too which he said he would definitely do.  Bless dear "Alex", Father, and take him on to further encounters with you.  Praise you for what you did in his life and heart today

I was making my way back from the High Street when a youngish Asian guy intersected my path and coming closer said “Well, I can see that you are spiritual!! ”  (I had seen him and another guy holding Hindu holy books earlier on and assumed they were approaching people to talk about their religion).  I told him that I was a Christian and he asked “what kind”?!  (Anglican, Methodist etc?)  I said I was the “Jesus kind” - a follower of Jesus, that was my group!  He asked if I had been born into that and, replying “No”, I gave him my testimony of how I came to know and receive Jesus.  At the end of it he said “Well will you pray for me so that I can come closer to God”!!!!! Of course I said “YES!” “I am serious” he added.  I mean pray now for me.”  “Yes absolutely! I replied -  I’m going to pray for you right here, right now”!

Then I asked him if he had any pain in his body and he said he had a bad knee and a flat foot.  I explained that God loves to heal people in their body so that they can see that He is real and knows them so they can have faith that He wants to be close to them and accept them.  He let me pray for his knee and his foot.  He couldn’t really test it out as the pain usually came on after long periods of sitting.  Then I prayed for him in his seeking of God, released God’s love to Him and commanded fear to leave him (HS gave me that download) . I spoke the Father’s heart over him and blessed him to know a life without fear or having to perform to earn God’s approval.   He was nodding and when I stopped praying he said how I had prayed with such sincerity.  “That’s because Jesus lives on the inside of me” I explained.  Then I encouraged him to ask Jesus to come and reveal Himself - just as I had asked Him to - and that Jesus would definitely do that.  His name is “Nick”.

Father take care of this precious seeking one who longs to know you in a close and personal way.  Protect him and encounter Him by your Spirit and draw his heart to you
