"I don't think Jesus would want you to pray for me"
Slough end April 2018
Before I went into Slough I had asked HS to highlight any illnesses/injuries I could pray for that day. I felt He highlighted congestion/breathing/sinussy issue, a painful left wrist and a lower back injury that went right down into the tail bone!
The first person I encountered was someone who kind of approached me. His name was "Bob". He was a simple soul with obvious mental health issues. He asked me if I had any money for him, as although it was only 11am he wanted to eat burgers! I asked if he had any health issues - he suffered with asthma which was interesting given the word about congestion/breathing. I gave him some money and asked if I could pray for him. He said yes and it was actually really precious. He bowed his head and was calm and quiet as I prayed for his asthma and also his mind chaos. He said "Amen" at the end.
I next came across a young Asian man – I can't remember his name – I think he may have been Muslim. I asked him if he had any back issues and he said he gets back pain which he just wakes up with sometimes. He’d tried sleeping on different surfaces but it still came back. It wasn’t bothering him at the time I met him as the pain wears off through the day but he let me pray for him quite happily. His English was quite limited but he was happy I had prayed with him and seemed grateful.
The next two guys again kind of approached me on the high street. They were managing an internet company stand. I talked with them about business for a bit.. Then I asked them if either of them had a painful left wrist – the guy called "Mahmud" said he had ! And the other guy called "Hugh" said that his lower back had been injured in a car accident 4 or 5 years ago and he said it was hard to explain but it kind of went down into his tailbone!!! I I told them I was a Christian and how I'd been praying before I came out and those specific injuries i was given to pray for. I said i would be happy to pray for them if they would do me that honour. They said yes!
I prayed for"Hugh" first. He told me that his Mum was a church warden (or similar)! He didn’t say he was a believer himself, though. But he bowed his head as I prayed for his back and then I felt led to pray about other things in his future - especially alliances that would be helpful rather than with people of mixed agendas who would take from him and not add to him. He was nodding all the way through and at the end he was very grateful and said that the things I had prayed about him at the end were really relevant and true. He couldn’t test the pain in his back as he didn’t have it at that point..
I then asked "Mahmud" if I could pray for his wrist. He said – "I don’t think Jesus would want you to pray for me – I’m a Muslim". I blurted out “What?! "No!" Jesus would absolutely love me to pray for you!" and before I prayed he added that he actually gets pain all over his body but he doesn’t know why. Also would I please pray for his mind as he forgets things and it was obviously bothering him. I prayed for his wrist but also for his mind to be retentive, clear and focussed and that he would know there was a difference even that day. He was nodding as I prayed. I also prayed for his seeking heart to know God through the love of Jesus. He actually said Amen! at the end! It was so precious. I asked him at the end how he was feeling and he said he felt very relaxed. Ah, that beautiful Peace of God! It was time to move on as I had already taken their time from meeting the public.
Oh thank you Father, protect each one of these precious treasures and the powerful seed of Life that you have sown into their hearts today.
