Gently does it
First week of July 2017 – SLOUGH
Went into town feeling calmly expectant that there would be people to encounter with Father’s love.
I stood with a lovely black lady who was helping out an older guy who’d fallen in the street and couldn’t get up - everyone else was just passing him by. Turned out she was a believer from Maidenhead and she said my face was familiar! I prayed a short prayer over the man (Andy) and encouraged the lady about her kind caring for this poor man. We gave each other a hug once the ambulance took the man away and went our separate ways.
Things were fairly quiet in the street otherwise - though I did get to speak and pray with a man from Romania who was playing the violin. He couldn’t speak English well but he understood my gestures that I prayed for people and asked me to pray for his son who is just young and needs a heart operation next month ( a lot of that communicated through sign language!!) Anyway I prayed for his son’s operation and just blessed him and his family. He hugged me and was grateful for my time with him.
In one of the stores there was a young assistant with a lovely smile, I wondered if she was a believer. I felt I had a word for her about having a job to do on earth that no one else could do and that she wasn’t to be afraid of being different from others. Her uniqueness is important to the world and she mustn’t let others try and change her to be what they want. She said thank you for encouraging her and she told me she was from a believing family and she is a believer too! I felt prompted to ask if worship was something she specially loved and she said yes that was her favourite thing! I told her that her worship was so important as warfare – a way of bringing down the strongholds of the enemy against her and her family. She understood and was very touched by me sharing this and asked if she could hug me! Her name is Annabel. Bless that beautiful girl and her family, Father.
I did get talking with a lady called "Julie" who was fund raising but although we had a nice chat about her charity she wasn’t at all interested in any God stuff so that was fine. We had a friendly time and she knew the offer was there.
The other two folk I shared with were promoting a business – Ahmet and Anil. Not sure what culture or faith they were, possibly Muslim. . Anyway, I prayed for Ahmet’s knees – they weren’t painful at the time but he said he gets arthritic pain especially on rainy days. I just pointed at the knees, I didn’t touch them. He said he felt something cold on the inside of his knees and I said it must be Heaven's ice packs! Couldn’t really test it as not painful then. I gave words to them both – kind of life-situation words and they seemed to touch down well and were recognised and received.
Then it was time to go back to the car. It felt like a gentle day – nothing really epic or major but I believe I did what I was given to do and I trust Father to pursue these dear ones as only He can to continue revealing Himself to them.
