A brief trip into town today, so I didn’t know if there would be time for any encounters. I did give a simple “Yes” to Father God as I parked up, though, praying He would lead me to even one person that day.
As I strode out from the foot of the escalator into the shopping centre, some song lyrics came over the sound system from “The Prince of Egypt”:- “There can be miracles, when you believe…who knows what miracles you can achieve… when you believe, somehow you will!” Now that’s the kind of Christmas play list I appreciate!
I sensed straight away that this was a Holy Spirit message for me. He wanted me to keep my eyes and heart of faith open for a miracle today (I sensed it might be for healing). My anticipation level boosted, I continued on my way.
Dropping into one store, I had a brief chat with one of the assistants I’ve got to know but she was then needed, and it was time to go. But not before a song came onto their sound system too – “The power of Love….a force from above…make Love your goal”. Another signpost from Jesus that He wanted me to move out in both His love and miracle working power in that shopping centre. Both together, not one without the other. I was primed and ready!
The next shop I headed into was one I regularly visit, and I’ve got to know the assistants there over time. A different lady was at the till today with the other two assistants. Although that shop is usually full of customers, at this particular time there was a quiet lull, so I dashed over to ask if any of them had any physical pain going on today. If so, I would be honoured to pray for them for God to take it away there and then.
The ‘different lady’ – Carrie- openly stated that she had pain going on all over her body! The worst of it was in both her legs and also her feet which lacked arches and were flat. Her current pain level just on standing was 5/10 but far worse after some hours of standing. I asked her if her Manager would be okay with me taking just a moment or two to pray for her? “Well, I am the Manager, so yes!!” she replied good humouredly! And so began my prayer.
After addressing the pain and its root cause and commanding it to leave Carrie’s body from top to toe, I asked her how she was doing and if she had been sensing anything during the prayer. “I felt like cold was going down through my body, it was so weird, and also I felt quite wobbly!” “That’s entirely usual” I reassured her. “God is at work doing deep healing in you!” I had her move herself around a bit and check herself out. “I’m feeling really relaxed and pretty good, to be honest” reported Carrie. There was one area still aching, so I specifically addressed aching and also commanded new arches to form in her feet!
I could tell that Carrie was entirely nonplussed about all that was happening to her. “How is this even possible?” she asked quizzically. The other two assistants – one a Muslim girl – were also watching and listening closely. This was their Manager, after all!
“It’s all Jesus!” I responded. “He’s real and He loves you and is showing you that love by His healing power at work in your body. He knows everything about you, Carrie and He wants you to have the most thriving life with Him”
“My brother is a pastor!” Carrie then announced. But he’s over in America now”.
“ I hope you will tell him about what’s happened to you today?” I ventured.
“You can say that again”! And assuring Carrie that I would call in again another day soon to see how she was, I left before the shop filled again with busy Christmas traffic.
Oh, the power of His love! When mixed with even tiny faith and released through His great love, who knows what miracles we can achieve?!!
