To fly or not to fly - that is the question!!
SLOUGH 16th October 2017
It was a beautiful morning and unusually warm for mid- October – around 22 degrees! So for a little while I stepped back into Summer and enjoyed the lighter feeling in the streets as people sat outside again.
My first encounter was with a sweet young guy called "Cairo" – his Dad has a passion for all things Egypt hence the name! He was promoting a business outside on the high street. As I approached him I felt the HS whisper that he has more studies up ahead because what he had done so far wasn’t complete. We talked together about his work and in answer to his question I explained what I was doing in Slough. He seemed genuinely interested and I asked him if I could give him an encouragement from God…..he was happy to accept that and I first told him how Father loves the way he wants to bring people into a better place in their lives and how he really puts people at their ease so they can be themselves and find a calmer, more peaceful space through the way he is with them. Something like that!
I also told him about the completing his studies word I had. He was pretty amazed at all this because …..he had not been able to complete his A Levels but now wanted to go back to college and complete those studies so he could further train as a counsellor and eventually be a clinical psychologist! He wants to help people come into a better place in their lives!
He was clearly impacted that I could have known that about him and was really open as I explained how it was Jesus in me telling me those things and how God knows and loves him so uniquely and completely. I think I gave him my testimony briefly too. He told me that I was very calming and he felt really peaceful as I spoke to him – giving me an opportunity to talk about the Prince of Peace being one of Jesus’ names! I encouraged him to invite Jesus to show him who he is in a personal way. It felt like water was going in to rich fertile soil and I know that the seed of Life has been sown by you Father. I entrust him to you as you watch over and care for "Cairo".
Next I came upon Tae. A smiley black guy, quite hip, in his thirties. Actually from London and we talked about the ugly side of gentrification in London pricing out the people who have lived there for a long time. I told him what I was doing in Slough as he had asked me and he seemed to know what I meant when I explained it. I had the sense he had Christian experience and background of faith but wasn’t freely walking in that right now. I had a word for him about having a leadership gifting and him being a leader in all his different circles of influence and he said “My Mum is always telling me that”! I also had the word “promotion” for him which he was happy about! I didn’t know how it applied to him but he thought it might be through the business he is building in clothing design. He told me a bit more about it and I was able to talk about our own sons and their entrepreneur experiences. An interesting and timely encounter. Pursue Tae, Father, and draw Him closely back to you.
Inside the shopping centre I came across two young guys at a stand. One was called Ty and the other was Mick. I had a word for Mick before I approached them about God wanting to give him confidence and how he would “get his stripes”( like pilots in the air-force), going from strength to strength…..I actually spoke to Ty first while Mike was busy and noticed he had a bandage round his wrist. Turns out he had accidentally cut himself quite badly trying to open a parcel with a knife! I asked if I could pray for his wrist (I guess I told him I was in town praying) and he said yes! So I did. It wasn’t in pain so he couldn’t really tell if there was a change but he was relaxed and grateful for my praying.
I kept sensing an aeroplane in connection to Ty as i stood there with him but thought maybe that was just because of the "air-force" connection i already had for Mick. Anyway I told Ty about the aeroplane I "saw" in connection to him and asked was he about to take a flight soon? He then told me how his colleague Mick and he were planning a trip together but, because Mick really doesn’t like flying, he thought he would have to go by Eurostar though Ty himself preferred to fly.....he was really intrigued because he said “we have literally just been having a conversation about planes and flying” ! He said “you should speak to Mick”……
Mick was now free so I introduced myself and what I was doing, the word I had given Ty and how he had told me about Mick not liking flying. I then gave Mick his word about confidence and "getting his stripes" and he really resonated with it and was likewise intrigued how I could know all that about the flying. He genuinely wanted to know how I was getting these things, asking intelligent questions and I explained about the spirit of God in me because of Jesus and how I receive His love messages for others.. I felt HS give me a few other downloads for Mick about his family and his relationship with his mother. We had a good open chat and then I offered to pray for Mick. He readily agreed and I just prayed around the things he had shared as HS led me. Really precious. A dear young man who doesn’t yet know his identity or real value.
At the end he said “That was unbelievably insightful” He was rocked at how I could know the things going on in the inside of him. All Jesus! Before I left he said “I really want to take another look at religion because of this!” “Awesome!” , I said “but don’t look into religion because that’s just going to shut you down. Look into JESUS. He'll expand your life and put amazing adventure and colour into it. Get hold of a Bible and just look at who He is and how he loved people and even died for us”. He agreed he would and I gave him my contact email if he ever wants to ask questions.
Protect and pursue these dear ones, Holy Spirit. They are hungry and searching and you are their satisfaction. How you love them!
