Everyone deserves to know how precious they are to Jesus

"He will take such delight in you that it will make him leap for joy…you will be his feast of joyful pleasure. Yes, he will renew you with his love

– Zephaniah 3 v 17 passion translation

Christmas is coming!

Christmas time at Eden Centre High Wycombe

Christmas time at Eden Centre High Wycombe

Early in December I went into High Wycombe and as I was outside M&S I saw a young man called "Simon" who was collecting for charity. We had a little chat about some things, he’s a Christian in ministry and eventually I released a word to him based on baked beans (!)  in particular “Heinz 57 varieties”.  The word was about him coming into an expanded variety of people and situations within the ministry that he already knows but also an expansion of the number of new ministries that he would be part of.  He really resonated with this word and said that he had had a very similar word from a highly regarded prophet some years previouslyIt was a real confirmation to him and really blessed him

I then went into the Eden shopping centre and two guys summoned me over - they were promoting a well known charity.  They were quite surprised that I agreed to come and talk to them as most people just pass them by They asked me “why are you so happy?”!  what is it that you do? I explained to them that “I am a Jesus girl” !! At that they both let out a squeal of excitement and the shorter of the two men explained that his colleague is also a Christian, which is why the mention of Jesus made him so excited.   His friend was from Brazil and is called "Reuben".  The other short man a chap was from Sierra Leone in Africa . I was able to talk a little about my faith and the shorter man told me that he is a Muslim. His father is a Muslim too but his mother is a Christian and he can remember being taken to church as a young boy!!  His name is "Asif" He told me he was due to go and be married in two weeks’ time in Africa to a Muslim lady called Maryama.

After a bit more chat, I offered to pray for both the gentleman they were very happy to accept my offer  I prayed first for "Asif" and, as I prayed, Holy Spirit gave me downloads about some of the fears that he has for his future and also some anxiety about the actual wedding ceremony itself and tension between the families.  There were other concerns about financial provision generally.  After I prayed "Asif" was quite overwhelmed because the things I prayed for were very true of his feelings and fears and he said to me that what God had done in sending me to pray for him was more precious to him then if 10 people had signed up to the charity that day!!!!  He recognised how God had sent someone to come and be concerned for the feelings and concerns of someone else, even a stranger, and how this had blessed him so much What was funny was that during the time I prayed for him he would say “Amen, Amen!” which I guess is quite unusual for a Muslim!!!   It was a sweet encounter and I could really feel the presence and power of God moving on "Asif" who physically swayed back and forth as HS moved on him.

I then prayed for his colleague "Reuben"  who had some health issues to do with allergies affecting his digestion and also some concerns about future financial provision.  It was a real honour to pray for this lovely believer and he was very moved by all that I prayed for him and his wife. it's great knowing that "Asif" has a strong Christian colleague and friend in "Reuben"   I left the encounter being amazed again at the goodness of God particularly towards "Asif" who recognised that Jesus does indeed do wonderful things for him

Outside in the High Street area I came across a young lad probably no more than 17 who asked me if I had a few pence for him to get some tea. I began chatting to him about where he lives and what's going on in his life. He is homeless and sleeps in the bus or train shelter. His name is "Kevin. " He was dressed in a very thin tracksuit with holes in it and it was a really cold day.  He told me that the shelters charge £4.50 a night and he doesn't have that money -  other shelters don't open until January. It was alright being homeless in the summer months but now that it was cold it was really hard. He had health problems - his kidneys had become infected to the point of bleeding.  He had been homeless now for nine months.

I asked if I could pray with him and he was very happy to accept prayer.  I prayed for his future, for good connections for him to help him come out of this terrible pattern of life that he was in in and also prayed to pray for healing for his health issues Above everything I released the radical love of God for "Kevin" and the way that God sees him as precious and priceless in his sight. I told him about the man ("Simon") outside Marks & Spencer's and suggested Jordan go and have a chat with him to see if he might be able to help.   My heart really went out to this young lad when I thought of my own boys who have everything and never have to worry about a warm, dry place to sleep   I gave "Kevin" enough money to find shelter for that night as well as money for some tea and hugging him I left.

O Father bless "Kevin" even now protect him and Connect him with good, trustworthy people who can help him get into a safe and wonderful path for his life.
