SLOUGH APRIL 13 2017
I came across some guys who were serving on a stand in the shopping centre – one cheerily approached me to get my attention and was surprised that I returned it with a smile and wanting to know what he was offering . It was a charity and we talked about it for a bit. His name was "Khan" – a Muslim. I told him I was a kind of street pastor which he seemed to understand. He openly told me about how some nuns had once invited him to a church service - and he had gone to it! He really enjoyed it and had felt peaceful there. I asked him if there was anything he would like prayer for. He then basically began to describe oppression – heaviness over his whole body, migraines and eye heaviness, clouded thinking, all that kind of stuff. I prayed taking authority over these different things and cutting them off him. At the end of it he said he felt so peaceful and really light. Like he had “space” away from all the stuff that was tormenting him. He was smiling ear to ear and I told him it was Jesus who did that. Very cool.
I didn’t get to talk to the other guys till later on…..
Outside on the high street there were more folk representing that charity – obviously doing a big push in Slough that day. I got to introduce myself to "Harry" . When I told him I was a street pastor he asked did I go round and “preach the word” and I told him it was more about demonstrating God's love by healing or through words of encouragement from God. I told him that I felt that God was highlighting a car/s for him and maybe he was thinking about getting a car or working on cars? He didn’t respond right away but later did say he was thinking about getting a car. Then I spoke about him reconnecting with God because he had known God at one time but wasn’t connected with him right now. God wanted to hear his voice again and just talk with him friend to friend - not to tell him how inadequate he is and how disappointed He is in him. Just to be with him and enjoy him and for him to enjoy God. There were other things along those lines and he received them. He said thoughtfully – ",Yeh Yeh I do need to reconnect with God" and I could see it was stirring him big time as he started pacing up and down and then asked me for my email address. Holy Spirit you landed on something really significant in “Harry”– please keep pressing on that button in hand wooing him back to Father.
I also got to talk and pray with "J" - a tiny young lady also a Muslim – her name means Heaven/Paradise. When I asked her what she would like prayer for she said her whole body,,,,she’s always ill because of her eating issues, doesn’t have much immunity and gets a lot of sicknesses. She allowed me to put my hand on her and start praying – then a supervisor person came over and asked if she was alright!! She said yes she was just talking! I continued and came against the lies she believed about herself that led to self hatred and not loving her body and not feeding it well. I then rebuked the weakness in her physical body and prayed for a total health upgrade which she giggled at and said she could certainly do with one ! could tell she knew the words I prayed over her were truths for her and she thanked me and told me she felt peaceful. I couldn’t linger as I knew she was being observed but I trust HS did some deep work in her life.
Back in the shopping centre where I met "Khan" again – he said he still felt good and really light and thanked me again. This time I also got to talk with Alex and prayed with him about sleep issues which was a HS download to ask him about his sleep. He didn’t know why he slept badly but he did and I prayed over this issue and all underlying causes . He said afterwards that he really did feel peaceful and he was surprised! I told him that is the Peace of God that you just felt. He was happy and intrigued!
Finally I spent a little time talking with "Al" – a lovely guy from the Caribbean, strong believer, used to work in refugee camps and other disaster relief places. He had seen so many difficult things, The worst things you can imagine. But he said how he had learnt to be so grateful for the simple things in life – food clothing shelter and clean water are so precious. He wanted me to just pray blessing over him and I prayed over him just what Holy Spirit gave in those moments giving thanks for this amazing son who was such a bright light in the darkest of places. An honour to meet him.
I did try to talk with two Aussie young folk on a paintball stand but actually I didn’t feel like I had anything for them and the stuff I said felt rather forced and didn’t really hit home. I should have realised I was tired by this point and even though I was wanting to reach them, HS didn’t give me anything and there wasn’t a green light over it - so it was just my own words. It’s good to realise that from time to time and just relax about not having to have a word/interaction with someone, not worrying that I could or should say something if the HS green light isn’t there I don’t need to try and make something happen.
It was a great morning being with my HS friend!
