Uxbridge Good Friday 2019
A quick family trip into town today! Four of us went in with different things we wanted to get done – mine were God encounter-shaped!! I only had half an hour while the others were busy so I didn’t know if anything could happen in such a short space of time……
On the way back to our meeting spot I saw a young lady who was helping at a stand and noticed that her foot was bandaged. “Oh, what happened there?” I asked. She explained that she had twisted her ankle and it was painful. After explaining about praying for people in pain, she said she had a friend who did that too and that she herself was a Christian (name Tasha) She was happy to let me pray for her and held my hands. Her pain level was 8/10. I did pray for her a couple of times and the pain started to go down each time but unfortunately she wasn’t able to continue with more prayer. I was disappointed that she didn’t walk away healed but more was to come from this encounter!
While I was still praying for Tasha, an older gentleman who had been watching kind of butted in and asked if I was practicing Reiki?! “Oh No! I pray only through the power and name of Jesus ” I replied. He then started to talk about his understanding of how Jesus historically connects in with the practice of Reiki. I clearly repeated that I pray only through Jesus and have no connection at all to Reiki. I thought this might put him off but he persisted and asked if I could please pray for his knees ! He was also very concerned and upset about his wife (who was somewhere in the shopping centre) because she was suffering badly from neck and shoulder pain. When he asked if I could please pray for her I said I’d be happy to after praying for Tasha, so off he went to find her!
After a few moments this dear gentleman (Onan) came back with his wife (Zainab). There was a slight issue with language but Zainab understood my explanation of praying for her and asking her to scale the pain. She had been suffering with it for about 2 months and the pain scale in that moment was 5/10. I prayed for her briefly twice, The first time the pain went down to 3. After the second prayer it had gone completely! She also received a tremendous download of Peace – it was visible on her face. When I asked her about it she nodded and said she had felt something very special. It was moving to see her husband’s joy at seeing his wife relieved of all her pain!
I then prayed briefly for Onan’s knees – which he scaled at pain level 9/10 when he bent down on them! I prayed three times in all – he was happy when he had partial healing but I insisted that Jesus had paid for 100% healing so he could have that 100% now!! “Really?!” he exclaimed – then after a final prayer he was free of all pain and was squatting up and down vigorously! Woo Hoo!! I told them both that today was Good Friday – a really good day to be healed, as this was the day that Jesus suffered and died for all of us to be healed, not just in our bodies but in our whole lives.
The rest of our family group came along at that point and I introduced them to this lovely couple. Onan looked at Gideon and remarked enthusiastically that he has the look of a “holy man”!. Onan and Zainab explained what had happened during our time together and were embarrassingly effusive to the others. But all I cared about was what I had seen Jesus do to introduce Himself to them in such a wonderful, tangible way. It was random, slightly strange (!) but glorious. They have my contact details…I wonder if they will message me one day?
Holy Spirit – I know you can reveal Jesus even where there is spiritual confusion, so I entrust these precious ones to you. ‘Tasha too – may she grow in faith and expectation for her own healing as well as that of others. Thank you for the Divine Networking you did today – all in such a short space of time! You are Genius!!
