A friend was visiting the UK from overseas and we arranged to meet up together in London. The meeting almost didn’t happen, with a prior train breakdown causing delays to both our journeys. Amazingly, we both arrived within ten minutes of each other and only half an hour later than scheduled! God had a plan!!
We were in need of coffee! Our path took us to an area with independent cafés and restaurants where we chose one that looked friendly and inviting. It turned out to be run by a Turkish family, and the servers could not have been more helpful. After a good catch up with my friend, it was almost time to go and our young lady server brought over the card machine I had this sense that I needed to check how she was physically, with the possibility of offering to pray for her.
As I began asking her how she was health wise, the lady manageress overheard me and said in a kind voice “Oh, Fatima doesn’t speak much English. But I can translate for you if you like?” Wonderful! I explained to them that I am a follower of Jesus who regularly prays for people in Jesus’ Name and Jesus takes their pain away. Once Fatima understood everything, she communicated that her neck was in considerable pain and had been for some time. She scaled her pain currently at 7/10. The manageress explained to her that I would pray for her briefly, then ask her to check her neck out and report back truthfully! Fatima smiled and nodded, agreeing gladly when I asked for permission to touch her neck lightly.
After two brief prayers commanding pain and affliction to leave and full healing to be established, Fatima tested out her neck this way and that way, then up and down. Again and again. Her eyes were as wide as the saucers under our cups and her face lit up with tears of joy as she exclaimed “It’s all gone!! There’s no pain anymore! She could barely believe it but was so thankful and happy! The Manageress too was smiling excitedly!
It wasn’t over yet, though! Fatima urged the Manageress to ask another server to come over – Esther. This young lady also spoke very limited English and was in a lot of pain – this time in her shoulder. It was so bad that she scaled it as 10/10 in that moment. The Manageress knew what to do by now (!) and soon I was praying for Esther’s healing. A moment or so later, she also was excitedly reporting that all her pain had gone! Moving her shoulder freely in all directions now, she could not believe the difference. She too was crying with joy and the Manageress was delighted that her staff were so happy and fully able to work without pain.
During this whole time, the café had been fairly quiet (though those on adjoining tables certainly heard what was taking place!) Once the young ladies had been healed, the café became really busy and I wasn’t able to interact with Fatima and Esther again. I left them each a Father’s Love Letter and the Manageress promised to pass ihese on to them. I was aware that the lovely Café staff were from Muslim background but had been so open to an encounter with Jesus – one even translating it in real time! How wonderful are His ways! Please pray for these three special ladies to have multiple more encounters with Jesus, until they receive Him as their own Saviour and Lord. Glory!!!
