Slough 15th September 2017
A fine, dry morning after a lot of unsettled weather. I wondered who would be in Slough today and who Holy Spirit had in mind for me to encounter? I felt so glad that I get to be on team with Him….I was very aware of this reality as I drove in to town - and also how Father’s ministering angels are released as we go to minister to His lost children. Very reassuring.
I met Ryan first. A sweet young guy on a stand in the high street….he didn’t need prayer for anything but I was able just to speak some encouragement to him as he had come through a particularly challenging situation during his university final year.
I prayed for a couple of people inside the shopping centre promoting photo portraits – I had come across them before and they remembered me and that I was a "street pastor" and asked me how it was going! I prayed for each of them for personal things they were hoping to see in their lives. They were both believers and it was really sweet to have that fellowship with them as they received prayer through the Jesus we love.
Outside again I came across a lovely young lady called "Honor" representing a business. As she stood there in front of me talking about what they did, I had this impression that she had a teaching gift and I could see her lecturing/teaching adults. I told her this afterwards, explaining that I was a Christian and had felt God was pointing this out about her. She was intrigued as it turns out she does some teaching/training sessions for adults in the charity sector! It was easy after this to explain how God knows everything about her and loves her radically. I can’t remember the sequence of it all but I told her how I didn’t come from a Christian background but had called out to God in a hard time of my life and at one point she asked "What happened when you called out to God, then”?! So I gave her a potted testimony of my very first encounter with Father God. She was certainly impacted – she’s from a Catholic background but with no personal faith in Jesus although had had some sort of spiritual impact at Lourdes once. I gave her my card and blessed her and encouraged her to go to her room by herself and ask Jesus to come and show her who He is . He would certainly do that, for her just as He had done for me. It was so, so sweet and amazing. Pursue this beautiful daughter Father and bring her home to you.
I came across Brennan at a tech stand (I had prayed for him before) Lovely young black guy, Christian – he had a cold and I prayed for that to go. He had a new co-worker he was training up – a young Greek guy called "Costas". I just turned to him and blessed him and spoke favour and strength and joy over him in this new job – it was his first day on the job! He thanked me saying it was really cool that I prayed for him as he was missing his Greek Grandma who would usually pray for him !
Karolina (Polish young lady) was also at the stand. When I asked her if she had any physical pain at all she said she had a lot of stiffness across her shoulders. Been there for years on and off. It was so bad currently that not even deep tissue massage could ease it now. On a scale of stiffness 0 – 5 she said it was a 6! She accepted my offer of prayer - though she is not a believer but had heard about “this kind of stuff”. Her testimony is here in a short audio clip. It was just wonderful. I only prayed for her once, taking about 10 seconds. Her reaction was priceless and she immediately called over to her other co-workers to tell them what had happened to her! Glory to you Jesus! A Holy Spirit chain-reaction.
During the last encounter, "Honor" must have told her colleague Tara about me, because this lovely young girl actually approached me asking if I would please pray for her as she was struggling with a few things going on in her life! She is a believer but had pulled away from God (some of it lifestyle stuff but some was through wrong mindsets about who God is) It was a privilege to listen to her tell me such personal things and then to pray for her. She was very encouraged and reassured and it was a real testimony to her of how much God loves her and is on her side that He would send a random person to make contact with her in the street! I told Tara about how God had healed Karolina completely of entrenched shoulder stiffness and did she have any physical need? She didn’t but she then introduced me to her colleague nearby – Lex – who had lots of joint pain and was in quite a mess physically. She had no idea what Jesus was just about to do for her – all in the space of less than a minute! A further chain reaction in the high street!

I did also pray with a sweet man called "Chris" who is a church- goer – not sure what relationship He has with Father but…..he was happy to accept prayer for partmer and their unborn daughter due in December. Short and sweet. He said I made his day so it probably meant more to him than I gave it credit for at the time! Help me learn never to underestimate what you do in even the simplest, briefest of encounters, Holy Spirit.
What a day – or at least two hours of it! I never grow tired of seeing Him impact peoples lives in such a lavish and incredible way. Every time feels like electric joy. How He loves each and every person He has made!
